This post was originally shared on the Clover USA Blog and I am so happy to finally share with you this coaster pattern here on my blog! The Venezia Palina Coaster takes little time to make and is the perfect companion for your coffee mug.
My inspiration for this pattern came from the beautifully painted mooring poles found throughout the canals of Venezia. For my high school graduation my parents took our family on a European trip through Italy. One of the places we stayed was Venezia and despite the heat that summer, I was in awe of all the winding historic streets, serene canals, and beautiful colors of the city. With so many boats lining the canals it’s no wonder that the Venetians created these mooring poles to be a statement on their own. The poles are painted diagonally with stripes and I wanted to recreate that pattern using only texture. The Venezia Palina Coaster is a beginner friendly pattern and will add a little touch of cozy to your home. A set of these would make a perfect gift for any occasion!
